THE OPENING NIGHT AT FYLDE GALLERY

The exhibition at the Fylde Gallery above Booths in Lytham is now open so please call in if you are in the area. I have left some business cards for people to pick up so there will be a freebie for you to take! The artwork is of a really high standard this year and some of it has been in Galleries in London. Anyway, here are the pictures of me next to my work and of some of the public having a little look at my pieces! A good evening all round I think.

A SHEEP COASTER

Well it's been a lovely few days and I had the choose between sewing this lovely little coaster sat in the sun or do some reading and work for uni. It's easy to guess which one I picked! Hence I have completed this cute cross-stitch coaster. I know have two sheep coasters, a sheep mug and a sheep teapot. So I have a complete matching set! I really enjoyed making this, it's the first cross-stitch I have done in a while and it was so therapeutic and relaxing. A great way to spend the warm spring days!

TEAPOTS AND PLATES

Yet another crafting session! This time we picked up some plates from Home Bargains and some Sharpie's permanent markers and began to decorate the plates. Once finished, I varnished mine so that the pens (hopefully) won't run. Only time will tell if this has worked! For some reason, the black pen didn't run when I varnished it, yet the red one did. Odd, I know. I do quiet like how the red-decorated plate turned out though. A happy accident you could call it! Will have to wait and see how they turn out once they have dried (which should be by tomorrow). Will keep you updated!

THE LAMB CAM IS BACK

Well seen as it was such a lovely day today I decided to head out for a bike ride and came across some cute little lambs! Being away at Uni, I thought I had missed them this year, as they usually appear in February and the beginning of March. Luckily there are some fairly small ones still about, however most of them are starting to look rather chubby. I had a cycle round my local area in search of more but these were the smallest I could find (within photographing distance). So here we go- I hope you have all seen the lambs this year! I always love it when they appear! Makes me feel all springy and happy!

BOOTHS GALLERY

My work is on display at the Fylde Gallery in Lytham Booths for the next month of so. I was there setting up today and everyone's work looked great. It took a while to find a place for everything and there was lots of rearranging, but it's all looking good now! Here's some photos of the gallery as it is set up. The exhibition opens this Wednesday, so if you are in the area and please pop along and leave some comments! I have also left business cards there, so feel free to pick one or two up! Hope you enjoy the exhibition.

GNOME

This was a pattern from a lovely crafting book I found on Amazon called Stitched Whimsy (it is brilliant, if you have a tenner to spare well worth investing in!). The patterns aren't too complicated and it's filled with lovely drawings and photographs. This is made from the pattern for the gnome/dwarf. My friends and I did intend to make loads and re-enact Gulliver's Travels (so keep your eyes peeled for photos to come!). I took this one outside to sit in the grass, seen as it was such a lovely day! Any suggestions for a name?

FLOWERS IN THE WINDOW...

... such a lovely day and I'm glad you feel the same! I picked these daffodils up from Morrison's last week for £1 (they were just green stumps back then) as I felt my window-sill needed brightening up a bit. They are mini daffodils and are so cute! I love spring! Just felt like sharing my excitement. To be honest, the fact they came in a yellow pot as well did pretty much made my day!

GOING POTTY

This was a few weeks ago, at a lovely little shop in Nottingham called Pot 'n' Kettle, well worth going to! We spent a good 2 and a half hours in there, so although it is quiet expensive (for a student, this was a treat) you do get your money's worth. We had a cup of tea whilst we were there and a lovely natter. I made a bowl, as seen below and my sister made a teapot. I am waiting for it to be posted up to me at the moment (via sister), it has been glazed but I haven't seen it yet. Look out for more pictures to come! I really enjoyed it, I haven't painted in a while but it was lovely to get back into it. I think you could make some lovely designs with stampers and sponges. We will have to wait and see how mine turns out!
