PORCELAIN WORKSHOP

Took part in a porcelain workshop today with artist Julie Miles, it was brilliant and very enjoyable! I made two vases/pots, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. As well as a whole load of buttons which will all hopefully come out of the kiln OK (hence all the photos, just in case!). I will hopefully find out on Monday if they are still in one piece, I shall just have to wait and see! On the first vase, I added butterflies which we printed in with the pattern from wallpaper. On the second I printed my own sew flowers onto the surface of the porcelain and then added some of the copper (which will turn green during firing, hopefully). So here are a few pictures of the pots pre-firing!

YOUNG AT ART 2012

Thank you to everyone who came last night, was a great evening and I am sure everyone enjoyed it! Was lovely to see what all the lower sixth (as I knew then, they are now upper sixth and nearly finished of course), had been up to and their great artwork. I got lots of positive feedback about my work and a few new ideas as well so thanks again to everyone who stopped to chat, I really enjoyed the evening. I think after my busy last few days, I am going to take a few days off and then get back to sewing canvas and making my cards!

WINTER GARDENS CRAFT FAIR

Thank you to everyone who came today, I had a fabulous time. It was my first fair of the year and I have to say it went splendidly! I cannot wait for my next fair- hopefully see some of you there!

NEW WORK

I wanted to work with buildings more over the summer, last year was people in the secret garden and now I want to move on to architecture. I have discovered while at uni that I love architecture and that buildings are amazing (I am not joking) and I want to celebrate architecture in my work. I also want to look at local landmark (such as Blackpool Tower) and celebrate these in my work also. Here are some pictures for you to enjoy!
