Workshops

I will happily run workshops with students of all ages; at the moment I mainly work with school students (secondary and primary) but I would love to work with some more mature students. I can work around a set theme, for example African Art (see post) or simply work demonstrating my technique and the development of ideas. I have worked with children with Learning Difficulties and children with challenging behaviour and would happily do so again.

Sample of work completed in workshops I have run:

Below, my most recent workshop with Sixth Form students turning socks into bunnies. They all seemed to enjoy it and overcame their disbelief that socks can become stuffed toys!

Work with Primary School Students in Blackpool, a collage workshop with no scissors at all, all the paper has to be ripped to size and then glued down. I found ripping the paper gave a better effect over all the images and was a good outlet for the students with challenging behaviour.

African Art with Year 8 students at a local High School, adapting my technique of ripping away section of image to suit their theme. I then converted their work into two quilts that hang now in the school.
Jennifer Collier inspired workshop with students with Special Education Needs, experimenting with trapping objects in wax and in melted plastic bags.
