As my final exam is tomorrow, I have been working on my sketchbook and completing a few more development pieces to pad my sketchbook. I thought I may as well use all these bits and bats of lace up.

THE END IS IN SIGHT!
I have my last exam day on Friday of this week (ahh!) and my second exam day was last Thursday, but I have only just photographed the work I completed in those five hours. The first piece is pretty much completely finished (just need to sew through the button holes), the second piece needs a few buttons adding and, as you can see, the third piece in my series needs a little work yet! I have thoroughly enjoyed this project and I think I will be sorry when it ends. On a more positive note, I have used up all my mum's spare lace so it is a good job the project is coming to an end, otherwise I would have to buy some more and nice lace is not cheap. Apparently, the 'spare lace' that was in the drawer was actually from her wedding dress!!! OOPS! Mum was saving it for a rainy day. However, as Dad pointed out, there have been rainy days since their wedding day, so I may as well use it. Lace deteriorates with age anyway, so I probably got in there just before the moths arrived! I'm sure mum will be able to forgive me one day. It's not as if I cut up her wedding dress! Just the spare material from it.

PHOTOS OF DEVELOPMENT PIECES
Finally got around to photographing my development pieces properly on a white background, I'll print these out and put these ones in my book. I also had a little fiddle on photoshop just to get the colours right.

DANDELION
Just a quick post as the weather here at the moment is beautiful and I want to be out in it as much as possible before I really have to start revising for my A Levels and before the rain sets in. As it has been so sunny recently (and a bit humid) the garden has exploded and, unfortunately, so have the weeds! Our back garden and the hedgerows are full of dandelion's and although they are a bit of a pain when they spring up in the garden, I think they do brighten up the hedgerows and road edges now that the daffodils have died down. So enjoy these pesky flowers while they last!

PHEW!
Well I have spend today altering jeans and tops and decorating a cotton shopping bag, which I am very pleased with. The jeans were for a friend, she wanted them turning into shorts and they turned out really well- no problem. The top was one of mine, I didn't like the sleeves so they came off and I think it looks better for it and then I just fancied decorating my boring college tote shopper. I am really happy with the final outcome, I love the roses and the detail such as the leaves and no bag in my opinion, for a girl, would be complete without a cupcake and teapot! What do you think? Any feedback would be welcome! I think I might start making these as birthday presents for friends, hopefully people would like them!

FINALLY!
I finally got around to photographing some of my development pieces, now that they are finally finished. I just added some buttons, sewed a little bit and poured some wax onto them. Feel free to have a look at previous posts (14th and 21st March 2011) to see the alterations I have made if you like. Enjoy!

EDITED AT LAST
I have got around to editing a few of my recent pictures, not much just tweaking and improving the colour levels and so on. Hope you like them! Back to more stitching soon, in case you are getting tired of my photographs. :)
