EXPERIMENTING WITH STITCH

Starting to expeiment with the use of thread to create line, unlike previous project on Birds, I am considering using the thread through stitch as a drawing medium, rather than looking at the Debbie Smyth inspired technique of wrapping thread around pins (creating negative space). I love this hand stitched piece- especially onto the sheet of music but it did take about 3 lessons (lessons are 1hour 10mins) so I think I will be focusing on using the sewing machine, but there is something about hand sticth that I love. Maybe it's the effort I know that has gone into it. Free machining is far faster and more fun though! ooh the choice!
